Fossil records show that 430 million years ago scorpions had gills and were aquatic arachnids. But present-day scorpions have book lungs on the bottom of their mesosoma which is the overlapping scales running down their back. This is one of the ways that we target the control of scorpions is by inhalation as they cross our pesticide barrier.
